Comprehensive Healthcare’s 16-bed Adult Evaluation and Treatment (E&T) center in Selah opened in April 2019. Located on the second floor of the Yakima Valley School building, the facility was newly renovated to create a secure, safe, and welcoming place for individuals to recover. Development for the project was initiated when Washington State legislators approached Comprehensive Healthcare about a state-wide shortage of inpatient psychiatric services, and to alleviate the shortage of facilities, increase access to psychiatric services, and help maintain a continuum of care.

Clients served at an E&T facility typically exhibit acute psychiatric symptoms upon admission, and require the highest level of care Comprehensive Healthcare provides. The E&T facility in Selah is a safe, and secure place where people experiencing a crisis are able to stabilize. It also offers 24-hour nursing, and accepts admissions at any time.

The staff at Selah E&T includes psychiatrists, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants, Master’s level therapists, nurses, a transition coordinator to plan for after care, an office coordinator, and case managers. A typical stay in an E&T facility is generally between eight to 12 days, allowing clients to transition back into the community when able.
