The Outpatient Co-occurring Disorders Treatment program at Comprehensive Healthcare in Yakima has been recognized by the state of Washington as a Dual Diagnosis Enhanced program. During the state surveys that took place in July, Comprehensive Healthcare scored 4.83 out of five, of which only 1 percent of the surveyed programs in the state of Washington achieve. The Dual Diagnosis Enhanced program rating is the highest level of performance a treatment program can attain and indicates that the outpatient services provided by Comprehensive in Yakima are well prepared to treat individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
“Our scores indicate that Comprehensive is top tier when it comes to dual diagnosis treatment,” said Diego Mendoza, Team Leader for Outpatient Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment in Yakima. “It has a lot to do with our consistency, regular training, and our team approach to client care.”
There are seven different assessment categories within the state survey. The Comprehensive Healthcare team in Yakima scored 4.5/5 in program Milieu, a 4.8/5 in Clinical Process and a perfect 5/5 in Assessment, Treatment Program Structure, Continuity of Care and Staffing. The state survey also noted Comprehensive Healthcare’s strong presence and reputation in the community as a quality agency that specializes in the art of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counseling.
The Co-occurring Disorder Team at Comprehensive Healthcare includes case managers, substance use disorder treatment professionals, mental health professionals, a therapist and a designated crisis responder. The team provides behavioral health treatment based on each individual’s unique needs and assists with connecting clients with other community resources such as housing, medical and social services. The team also helps clients become involved in positive leisure activities and engage with the community in meaningful ways.Comprehensive Healthcare’s Co-occurring disorders treatment program in Pasco also reached the Dual Diagnosis Enhanced level of recognition with a score of 4.28. The Pasco team has made significant strides over the past few years and has consistently increased their ability to meet the needs of the co-occurring population in the Tri-Cities area.
